Just wanted to let you know how special our time with Joelle and Claude was. It was fabulous! They are wonderful people, and have a truly lovely home. Our room was good, and their location is easy walking from the train station. The petit dejeuner was very good, with fruit, croissant, bread, juice and coffee. We rode bikes to Chambord and enjoyed our time there immensely. The countryside in the Loire Valley is very nice; perfect for bike riding. Thanks for your help, I'll keep this reference for future travels. - Deirdre Buschmann - Alaska, US

We are back from our holidays. My family and I were very impressed with the bed and breakfast accommodations in both Mer and Chatres in the Loire Valley. While trying to find suitable lodgings for a family of five is not always easy, both B&B's met all of our requirements and the hospitality exhibited was wonderful. While most hotel accommodations are quickly forgotten after a trip, our accommodations in France will remain a fond memory for years to come. I would strongly recommend that B&B's are the best way to travel and get to know the local flavour of any country, and we would definitely recommend both of these B&B's to other travellers. Thanks for helping us to enjoy our trip so much! - the Etienne family, Canada

I would like to say how pleased we were with the bed and breakfast accommodation provided by our hosts during our recent holiday to France. A traditional French style house of the area, Mme Mormiche were very hospitable and the breakfast was a choice of fresh fruit jams and pastries - very appetising - the Powells, UK

Just thought I would give you some feedback re our b&b stopover in the Loire Valley (ref 101). The accommodation was excellent, the house is a beautiful french townhouse close to Mer - our suite was spotlessly clean, well decorated with very high quality furnishings and bed linen (all rooms). The bathroom was again, high quality fittings, with lots of hot water and we were supplied with good quality towels etc. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic (the best we had been served all through our trip - from Dieppe to the Pyranees) - the hosts were pleasant and helpful, nice people. There was plenty of car parking space (off road - private garden). Overall we were thrilled, what a gem. My partner and I highly recommend to any prospective traveller. It was a real oasis. Oh yes, and one last comment, the cost of the accommodation was very well worth the money! - Miss Anthony and Mr Boy, UK

A beautiful old house with fine furniture and family history; a warm welcome and good bed and breakfast accommodation in the Loire Valley near Blois. Prepare for evening food however as the town Mer is very quiet at night regarding dining out. - the Tierneys, 2009
