This fine family-owned chateau, ideally placed for a romantic short break near Calais in France, offers bed and breakfast accommodation in the village of Behen which is under an hour's drive from Calais, 50 minutes from Dieppe, 10 km from Abbeville,3km from the motorway and close to the Picardy coast on the historic Bay of the Somme. Here, as part of your romantic break, you can relax in the peaceful surroundings of a unique country estate, with horse riding and bike/cycle rental available on site and a nearby golf course. Children will enjoy the farm animals which include horses, donkeys, sheep, small goats and rabbits.
The chateau was built during the 18th and 19th centuries and boasts beautiful wood-panelled salons and reception rooms. It has recently undergone extensive renovations in keeping with its original style and all rooms include TV and phone, plus spacious well-lit modern bathroom facilities, with marble and twin vanities.
Horse riding and bike riding are available at the chateau. Plenty of parking available in the chateau grounds. Accompanying animals are not accepted at the chateau.

I had to write to you to let you know that the Chateau near Abbeville we stayed at last weekend was excellent. I feel that the weekend was made enjoyable mainly because of Norbert's wonderful hospitality. It really was like staying with a friend, he couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and give us information about what to do with our days. The b&b accommodation was well maintained and clean and the food was delightful - cooked by Norbert!!! Just returned from the chateau accommodation near Abbeville: Children enjoyed it more than EuroDisney, wife wants to move in, I just loved it - we will definitely be going back and recommending it to our family and friends. On the way back from our holiday in the South of France, we stopped at the chateau accommodation near Abbeville and absolutely loved it. The rooms were huge and charming. We loved the six-foot beds and the good quality sheets. Having just had a long drive, it was lovely to sit in the sun and drink a glass of wine and watch the swans, peacocks, tiny ponies, goats etc. There was even a brand new foal! Norbert was the most charming host. He cooked dinner for just the four of us and it was a really special evening with excellent wine! We would certainly recommend this Chateau to anyone and never again will I go for an Ibis or Mercure if you have an alternative nearby! - the Furneaux family, 2008
Yet again first class hospitality! We have just returned from our second stay - our first was on our honeymoon last year - this time we were returning from the south of France. From the minute we stepped inside the door we were treated like royalty thanks to both Norbert and Ubert - the brothers who run the Chateau. The room was magnificent and the food, prepared by Norbert, was delicious and plenty of it! As was the nice aperitif served up by Ubert - what a lovely touch.
